About Me
My name is Patricia Moncada, I am a Senior at West Forsyth High School and participate in the Honors Mentorship Program. I have been mentoring at Northside Hospital Forsyth for the past school year and have had the opportunity to shadow nurses in Pre/Post Surgery, Oncology and most recently, Geriatrics. During my mentoring, I shadow my assigned nurse for the day and observe patient care techniques. I often ask questions regarding treatment plans and diagnoses of specific patients I meet.
My role at Northside has enabled me to explore my interest in the medical field and learn more about the day-to-day tasks of nurses in different specialties. I was able to discover the importance of quality patient care and learn by example from experienced nurses. Furthermore, my mentorship has affirmed my interest in a career in the medical field, specifically as an OB/GYN.
I plan to utilize the vital knowledge and experience I have gained during my time at Northside to aid me as a Pre-Med student at the University of Georgia.
